The process I have to work is as follows.įirst, I select the colors that will be present in the two color tables, keeping in mind the 9 color bits of the MD, and the HUD color reservation. In my instagram, since it is the only space where I post my updates, you can see it. You need to reassign palettes across the stage, and play great with the limited color palette (31 + 1). The project that at first may seem easy, is not at all, since you cannot convert the Champion Edition rom directly to the World Warrior, simply by doing a color hack. On I published a preview for the first time, based on my 2016's project SF2HCE hack.
#STREET FIGHTER 2 WORLD WARRIORS FULL#
is it possible to put the tree on Sagat's stage? or the sign on Ryu's stage?įor more than 4 years, I have had several hacks in the pipeline.Īpart from my SF2 Champion edition hack, I have been working on the World Warrior version as well as a full SSF2 hack. can you change the character portraits to the WW version?ģ.I think the shaded part of the house in Blanka's stage looks a bit off. the title screen should be black not blueĢ. and it seems the bosses are way too over powered and have incomplete movesetsġ. Some one successfully hacked WW to include bosses.
I know this is just a re-color of SCE to WW and not an actual WW game EXCEPT Guile's stage (the dusk version in CE is nicer). Quite honestly I like all the original WW stage colors over CE/Turbo stages in almost every single instance. We eventually could play it when Turbo was released at home.but because I spent so much time on World Warrior, the colors used in that game are special to me. Unfortunately it was really flawed as the moves never worked well and it would glitch out by the second round. back then every day I wished I could play as the bosses and even bought a game genie. I spent the most time with World Warrior. While Champion Edition is probably my overall favorite version of SF2 since it goes in a different direction than the other works. It wouldn't really be until high school that I became truly interested in Street Fighter, and that helped shape me and lead me to where I am today.I think this is a very unique hack. In honor of Street Fighter 2's big anniversary, leave some comments about the first time you came across the cabinet or game in general.Īs for me personally, I have vague memories of first seeing a version of SF2 at our mall's arcade in probably the mid-'90s though I didn't really mess around with it seeing as I was only three or four at the time. It was also fitting that SF2 would be the best-selling console fighting game for over two decades straight with somewhere around 15 million copies finding their way to Super Nintendos, Sega Genesises and pretty much any system that could run it. Honda, Chun-Li, Blanka, Zangief, Guile and Dhalsim remaining global icons and some of the most recognizable faces in all of video games. Those initial eight world warriors have transcended fighting games with Ryu, Ken, E. Most of my high school years went into playing this masterpiece. Many shared their thoughts on Twitter about their early experiences and what Street Fighter 2 means to them including CEO organizer Alex Jebailey and Ken's English voice actor, Reuben Langdon.
Alex "#FGC Tony Hawk" Jebailey February 7, 2021Įvery quarter spent was a battle of pride, bragging rights and high scores that would build the culture and drive to become stronger that's since grown to be more about raising and growing the community. I was actually a Blanka main with the originals. The game that changed my life forever after playing it in the arcades with my older brothers and being there for every update. None of it would be here without Street Fighter 2, at least not in the same way, so the game's birthday is also sorta like our own. It's absolutely wild to think that the fighting game community itself and its arcade roots are almost just as old now though we've obviously gone through many evolutions along the way to reach where we are in 2021.
